The University of Notre Dame is proud to announce its selection as an Institute Partner for the 2022 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. Beginning in mid-June, the Pulte Institute for Global Development, part of the Keough School of Global Affairs, will host 25 of Africa’s bright, emerging Business leaders for a six-week Leadership Institute, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
In an article published by Washington Monthly, Michael Sweikar, executive director of the Pulte Institute for Global Development, suggests the current system of providing short-term grants to non-profits, universities, and organizations for two to three years is "deeply flawed." According to Sweikar, "USAID could establish individual endowments with partner organizations, so that there will be more sustainable funding sources for our global priorities."…
