Sustainability Program Manager

With a focus on sustainability and environmental justice, this position plays a crucial role in delivering and helping to grow a portfolio of research projects within the Pulte Institute. Overseeing externally-funded projects — primarily in the Institute’s Innovation and Practice Division — the Sustainability Program Manager is a critical link between the Institute and implementation partners by providing budget management and logistics.

  Part-Time Position

Policy and Practice Visiting Associates

Visiting Associates usually spend between 2-8 weeks on campus. Longer residency durations of up to 6 months are permitted if there are cost-share arrangements from the applicant and their host institution. This could include funded research support, stipends, or travel funds. While in residency, Visiting Associates engage with key thought leaders, policymakers, the private sector, and the academy to develop two deliverables: a primary policy paper and a shorter policy brief, co-authored with a member of the Pulte Institute.

  Student Intern Positions - Academic Year 2023-2024

Pulte Institute Communications Intern

The Pulte Institute seeks a Communications Intern for Summer 2023 and beyond to help amplify the Pulte Institute’s brand on and off campus. The Communications Intern will work closely with the Communications Director to complete the following kinds of tasks:

  • Helping to create and input content for the Pulte Institute website (pulte.nd.edu) and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) 
  • Copy-editing reports, policy briefs, and other Pulte Institute publications
  • Updating and maintaining communications databases, including mailing lists, publications, digital assets, and project information
  • Supporting the implementation of Pulte Institute events (both in-person and virtual)
  • Aid the communications activities of various Pulte Institute partners (e.g.,USAID, McKenna Center for Human Development and Global Business) as appropriate
  • Assisting the Research Communications Coordinator and the Communications Specialist with other tasks as assigned


Preferred Qualifications: 

The Communications Intern should be an outgoing and organized self-starter who can work on multiple projects for a busy academic and practitioner team. The successful applicant will have experience using social media in a professional setting, strong English writing skills, proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of other database management systems is strongly preferred.
 


Graduate or Undergraduate: Research Communications Intern 

Part of the Pulte Institute is having a robust communications strategy, emphasizing capacity building, research translation, and knowledge product dissemination. This student intern role would collaborate with other Pulte Institute communications interns and our research teams on various projects ranging from copy editing to infographic creation to webinar planning.
 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Those with strong copy editing and writing skills and intermediate graphic design skills will be considered. Experience with data visualization and research translation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with all or some of the following programs and/or processes is desired but not necessary:
  • Canva
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Google suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Infogram or other data visualization software
