The Pulte Institute partnered with Project Concern International to provide monitoring and evaluation of their Women Empowered (WE) Initiative in Ethiopia and Guatemala. The WE Initiative promotes the economic and social empowerment of women by encouraging them to form self-managed and self-sustaining savings groups. As part of the WE Initiative, women are taught valuable financial skills. Through empowering the women to manage finances on their own, they in turn gain valuable social skills, ultimately expanding their financial and social capital. Ultimately, the project encourages the women to be more civically engaged. The Pulte Institute evaluated the project, assisting with sample size determination, control group selection, and variable collection.
