Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders
The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
To date, the Pulte Institute has hosted 247 fellows from 43 countries for a six-week Leadership in Business Institute, which includes academic coursework, leadership training, cultural exchange, site visits, networking, and community service. In collaboration with the Keough School for Global Affairs, the IDEA Center, and the Mendoza College of Business, the Fellows learn new skills in design thinking, social entrepreneurship, business modeling and planning, strategic leadership, and other innovation-based skills. Already successful business leaders in their own right, the Mandela Washington Fellows return to their home countries to use their new skills in leading organizations, communities, and countries.
