María Fernanda Chacón serves as a Sustainability Program Manager at the Pulte Institute for Global Development, where she specializes in sustainability and environmental justice. In her role within the Innovation and Practice Division, she plays a vital role overseeing externally funded projects and establishing connections between the Institute and its implementation partners.
 
Before joining the Pulte Institute, María gained valuable experience in various law firms and international organizations. As an attorney, she specialized in corporate law and intellectual property, providing crucial support to companies in navigating complex legal challenges, mitigating potential risks, and fostering collaborative partnerships. As an international consultant, she conducted comprehensive legal and policy analyses, developed advocacy toolkits for corporate accountability within international human rights bodies, and successfully planned major events like the Central America Donors Forum.
 
Chacón holds a master’s degree in Law in Sustainable International Development from the University of Washington and a bachelors in Law from Universidad Panamericana. Beyond her professional background, María finds fulfillment in volunteering and dedicating her time to assist others. She has volunteered with organizations dedicated to promoting educational opportunities, gender equality, and inclusivity.
