Climate change has disproportionate effects on poor and marginalized communities and exacerbates existing injustices—including global food insecurity. Agriculture is one of the most vulnerable sectors to climate change but also the second largest contributor, representing a quarter to a third of all emissions.

Can agricultural innovations be part of the solution? What are the best ways to encourage investments in innovations to support climate-smart agriculture? Join us to learn from leading academic and policy experts, who will explore these questions before the United Nations Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, where food systems will take center stage.

Get to Know the Panelists:

Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), Senate Agriculture Committee Chair and member of the Bipartisan Senate Climate Solutions Caucus

Cary Fowler, Special Envoy for Global Food Security Office of Global Food Security U.S. State Department

Chavonda Jacobs-Young, Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics and USDA Chief Scientist

William R. Sutton, Climate Smart Agriculture Global Lead and Lead Agricultural Economist in the World Bank's Agriculture & Food Global Practice
