We can no longer pretend that creating wealth for a few will inevitably benefit the many. Branko Milanović, a former World Bank lead economist, will investigate why income disparities and the global politics of the super-rich are defining challenges of our time.
Prof. Milanović is a senior scholar at the City University of New York Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality. He also teaches at the London School of Economics and the Barcelona Institute for International Studies. Prof. Milanović served as lead economist in the World Bank’s research department for almost 20 years, where he was instrumental in developing methods of measuring inequality at the global and national levels. From 2003 to 2005, he served as a senior associate at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington. In 2019, Prof. Milanović was appointed the honorary Maddison Chair at the University of Groningen.
