The U.S. invasion of Iraq unleashed a series of humanitarian tragedies that set back women’s rights for decades. The discussion will draw on the policy brief Promoting Protection and Empowerment for Iraqi Women, which examines the consequences of war and sanctions based on interviews with Iraqi women and will offer a blueprint for advancing women’s rights in the country moving forward.
