Support the Program
The Mandela Washington Fellowship at the University of Notre Dame relies on the support of a variety of individuals and organizations within and outside of the University. There are two primary ways for individuals to support the program at this time.
Become a Host Family for an Evening
Every summer since 2014 the University of Notre Dame has welcomed Mandela Washington Fellows to campus for their Leadership in Business Institute. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, this year's institute will be held virtually. Our team at the Pulte Institute is in the midst of program planning that will consist of asynchronous and synchronous sessions. One of the sessions we could use your help with is the Family and Friends Connection, traditionally called hospitality night.
This year should be fun and engaging just like in years past, but this year we will give each family a unique zoom link to connect with their Fellow, live. The connection will be on June 26 and due to the time difference, it will be from 10am to 2pm EST. This year we ask families and friends 'hosting' the Fellow to participate in the Cooking Challenge or Virtual Game Night. Please see more information below:
- The Cooking Challenge is where the Fellow will pick a local dish and provide the family with the list of ingredients and recipe. During the zoom call the Fellow can make the food with you or help the family make it.
- Virtual games have really expanded this year, but here are some examples of games you can play over a zoom call are Pictionary, chess, Charades, card games, or 20 questions. This year we will provide all participating family and friends a $50 Visa card to help offset the cost of buying cooking challenge ingredients or an online game cost or membership.
Please complete this form by June 15, 2021. Partially filled out forms cannot be accepted.
