Assessing the Impact of Food Security Interventions in the Philippines and Malawi
Additional Collaborators: De La Salle University (Philippines); Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and the Institute for Public Opinion and Research (in Malawi); LEAD Analytics
CGIAR, the world’s largest global agricultural innovation network, is conducting a systematic assessment of promising innovations (new technologies, practices, decision support tools, or policies) in multiple countries. This project supports these efforts in the Philippines and Malawi by mapping and identifying potential high-impact CGIAR innovations to help the Standing Panel for Impact Assessment (SPIA) for large-scale data collection to assess the impact of research efforts in these countries over the past 20 years. In collaboration with local partners and LEAD Analytics, the Pulte Institute will prepare a list of innovations based on a literature review and interviews with CGIAR and its stakeholders that show evidence of scaling and adoption. Shriniwas Gautam and Nancy McCarthy (from LEAD Analytics) co-lead these studies, supported by Lila Khatiwada (co-principal investigator) and Danice Brown Guzmán from the Pulte Institute, and Paul Winters (Faculty Advisor) from Keough School of Global Affairs.
