Megan McDermott
Systems Technical Advisor
Megan McDermott joins the Pulte Institute as the Systems Thinking Technical Advisor for the USAID Supporting Holistic and Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) Project. She has over seven years of experience as a researcher and practitioner in the international development space, with a focus on applied and participatory research, evaluation, and continued learning. Prior to joining the SHARE project, Ms. McDermott worked on a joint USAID/DfID pilot project to develop and test a new participatory systems diagnostic approach for the education sector in Rwanda. The approach has now been integrated as a core component of the SHARE project’s overall research approach.
Ms. McDermott is committed to bringing a systems-based and anthropological perspective to all of her work. She has a range of skills and experience in primary and secondary research, facilitation and training, and program management across a diverse array of sectors from education, child protection, and democracy and governance, to market systems, agriculture and WASH. Ms. McDermott has field experience in Latin America, East and West Africa, and Southeast Asia. She holds a Master’s in Anthropology and Development Management from the London School of Economics.
