Technical Associate Director

Dr. Megan Gavin is Technical Associate Director for the USAID-funded Higher Education for Leadership, Innovation and Exchange (HELIX) — Supporting Holistic and Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) program. A seasoned researcher with more than 20 years of experience in the field around the world, Dr. Gavin has designed, led, conducted and supported research in Higher Education in El Salvador and has a particular expertise in ensuring representation of female researchers and researchers from underrepresented groups in the design, implementation, analysis and presentation of research. Dr. Gavin has managed sub-awards as a USAID Project Specialist under a Cooperative Agreement in Nicaragua and as a Chief of Party in Nicaragua under a Contract. She has managed the day-to-day relationships with USAID Missions, PPL/LER and E3. She balanced her research work with university level instruction of undergraduate and graduate students in research methods. Dr. Gavin is known to be patient in mentoring partners in problem identification and agreeing upon project descriptions. She has significant experience managing the flow and quality of research, including leading large teams to ensure timeliness of reports and deliverables.
