Dr. Jerry Wright is the Project Director for the USAID-funded Higher Education for Leadership, Innovation and Exchange (HELIX) — Supporting Holistic and Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) program. He has over 20 years of experience as a consultant, evaluator, project manager, and research professional. His technical focus tends to be in education, economic growth, and program evaluations. He believes the goals of donor assessments, evaluations, and research is to advance academics’, aid professionals’, and practitioners’ understanding of the challenges facing developing countries and then inform evidence-based, feasible, and context-appropriate development project design and implementation. He has worked mostly with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and USAID contracts, although he has worked with the US Department of State, US Department of Labor, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and several United Nations agencies. He has lived in Afghanistan, Egypt, Jordan, while working in different assignments for USAID or on USAID projects, and has worked on short-term assignments in over 20 countries. He was a Fulbright Regional Research Scholar in both Jordan and the United Arab Emirates and an American Associations for the Advancement of Sciences Fellow.
